The Robo Expo is a family-friendly, age-appropriate, low-key celebration of students, robotics, physical computing, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Technology (STEAM).
This spring will be the 12th annual event, and I’m proud to be a founder and organizer. We offer a fun day that is half exhibition (where kids share their wild, crazy, innovative projects) and half light challenges (where kids program a robot to follow a line, get out of a box, stay on a table, collect cans, win a sumo competition, or other heats). The prize for completing any given challenge is a sticker, and kids love collecting them. It’s truly a great day.
This afternoon, Ethical Culture Fieldston School hosted a Robo Expo Ramp Up to get educators familiar with the history, reality, and expectations of Robo Expo. Thank you to Lan Heng of Ethical and Michael Tempel of the Logo Foundation for organizing!
